By the end of the year the company intends to lift two more prototypes in air that corresponds to earlier read plans. One of prototypes already is in the final stage of assembly, on it carrying out functional tests comes to the end. Now are going to install the main reducer on the car. Owing to the delays in general making about half a year, the present schedule of the program quite dense. Initially the model was planned to be certified by the end of 2016, new term — the I quarter 2017. Five samples will be involved in the program of flight tests.

The first and second prototypes (AC1 and AS2) will be tested on confirmation of basic characteristics and expansion of area of the flight modes then AC2 (now at the final stage of assembly) will undergo testing in the conditions of frosting. The third prototype, AC3, will pass tests on loading. Bell expects that these three cars will rise in air until the end of the current year. Company Bell Helicopter, Textron Inc. announced the list of the chief suppliers for creation of “super-average” model of the Bell-525 Relentless helicopter.

“There comes the important stage in implementation of the Bell-525 Relentless program as we turn from a phase of preliminary design into detailed design,” Larry Timmesh, the Vice-president of the Commercial Bell Helicopter Projects tells. – “High requirements to suppliers of this program – the proof, how far we promoted since presented our project in February at the HeliExpo exhibition in Dallas. The new Bell-525 Relentless project is under construction on the new proved technologies of our research efforts and undergoes continuous consultation with group of clients – the largest operators from around the world.”

Flight tests of the Bell-525 helicopter were resumed

The American producer Bell Helicopter resumed the tests of the average two-engine Bell-525 helicopter interrupted a year ago because of accident of the first prototype. It occurred after obtaining the corresponding permission from Federal aviation administration of the USA (FAA), told in the company.

The second prototype with registration of N525BK rose in air from the plant located in Arlington (piece Texas, the USA), on July 7, specifies Aviation Week. As it was reported earlier, soon the third prototype will join test flights. In total in the certified program it is planned to involve four cars. Two others will be brought together by the end of this year and the beginning of the 2018th respectively.

After suspension of flight tests of Bell Helicopter continued work on the program. In particular, prototypes took land tests and were improved to a serial configuration. Besides, the producer participating in crash investigation made changes to VS design (their essence will be opened after the publication of the report on aviaincident which for the present prepares).

The delay in the flight program seriously influenced the schedule of work on the new helicopter. It was initially planned that certification of the aircraft will take place at the beginning of 2017. Now it is expected that it will occur only by the end of 2018. Deliveries of VS will begin in 2019.
